A couple months ago I released a tutorial about how you can create a WordPress plugin which will automatically add a Pinterest Pin It button, this is a great simple plugin. But there were a couple problems with this plugin, one being you can only have the pin it button in one position on the image (the top left corner). Many people were requesting that they want the pin it button to be in different positions on the image. Another problem was if you didn't use WordPress media manager to add the image the plugin wouldn't work correctly.
To fix these problems I decided to create a new WordPress plugin which uses a different way of finding all the images in your content to make sure that all images will have the Pinterest pin it button overlaid on top. This new plugin will also come with a options page which will allow you to select the exact position you want the pinterest button to appear.
Introducing this new WordPress plugin the Pinterest Pin It Button Plugin.
This WordPress plugin will automatically add a Pinterest Pin It button to all your images on your WordPress site.
It will search your content for image tags and will add a button on top of the images to make it easy for your visitors to share your images on Pinterest.
Pinterest is the newest popular social media network which is focused around sharing images with your friends. You create different boards to assign your images to, these are used to categorise your images. The facts show that from social media referral traffic Pinterest will bring more traffic to your website than Linkedin and Google Plus combined.
What Makes This Plugin Different?
There are many WordPress plugins that will allow you to add Pinterest buttons to your images, so what makes this plugin different? I have made a free version of this plugin which would only place the image in the top left corner of the image, this is the same with many other Pinterest plugins.
The main request that I had with this plugin is that people want the flexibility to move the Pinterest button anywhere they want on the image. With this plugin you have the ability to set a starting postion for your image being:
- Top Left
- Top Center
- Top Right
- Middle Left
- Middle Center
- Middle Right
- Bottom left
- Bottom Center
- Bottom Right
From these starting positions you can define a new position offset to move the image exactly where you want it.
Pinterest has 2 style of buttons, you can have the vertical position count or the horizontal positioned count.
Some of the requests wanted the Pinterest button it be hidden until the user hovers their mouse over the image. This has the ability to only display the Pin It button when you hover over the image.
All of these settings can be customised from from the plugin settings page.

Get The Plugin
This plugin is a premium WordPress plugin which means it will cost you $4 to get your hands on it.
