For my new sites the hardest thing to do is to get the first bit of traffic that will get the ball rolling. Once the word is out there you will be able to get more and more organic visitors each day, it's just those first few months which is the hardest.
Promoting a site can be a time consuming task but it is an essential task if you want traffic to your site. The best way to get instant traffic to your site is to submit your site to article directories, website directories, social media sites, news sites or to guest blog on many big sites within your niche.
When I started this blog I had to submit my articles to many different places. Here is a list of some of the places I submit my articles to. All these places are in the web design or web development niche as this is what my articles are about.
Some of these sites are social media sites and some you need to register to submit a link but others you can just go to and submit a link. I have split the link into these two groups ones you have to be a registered member and ones you can just submit a link.
